# Overview of Popset

Popset is a content-sharing social network designed for mobile, built on the Solana blockchain. It allows users to share content and mint posts as NFTs. With Popset, users have complete control over their content, deciding if their pops are up for collection, the number of editions, and the duration of the collecting window. Popset acts as a personal tokenization engine, with all content minted onchain.

# Understanding Digital Collectibles

Digital collectibles are unique digital assets that are authenticated using blockchain technology. Unlike traditional digital files, which can be copied and shared indefinitely, digital collectibles are unique and verifiable, ensuring their rarity and ownership.

**Why Digital Collectibles Matter**

1. **Ownership and Provenance**: Digital collectibles provide a way to establish true ownership of digital items. The blockchain records every transaction, ensuring a clear history (provenance) of who has owned the item.
2. **Scarcity**: Creators can limit the number of copies of their digital collectibles, creating a sense of scarcity and exclusivity.
3. **Monetization**: Digital collectibles open new revenue streams for creators. All users, from seasoned influencers to up-and-coming content creators, can apply to become verified creators and have the ability to list their content for sale on Popset.

On Popset, we've turned posts into digital collectibles, as they are minted as NFTs on the Solana blockchain. # Creating an Account

1. **Download the App**: Download the Popset app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) once it is available.
2. **Sign Up**: Open the app and tap on the "Sign Up" button. You can sign up using your Apple ID,  Google ID, or email address.

That's it! There's no need for wallet management nor crypto to use Popset. 


# Setting Up Your Profile

1. **Select Username:** Choose a unique username from 4 to 16 characters in length.
2. **Profile Picture**: Add a profile picture by tapping on the profile icon and selecting an image from your device.
3. **Bio**: Write a short bio to let others know more about you. Tap on the bio section and enter your text.
4. **X Profile Link (optional)**: Click the button to connect to your X (Twitter) account and link your Popset profile.
5. Agree to our **Terms of Service** and **Privacy Policy** by checking the boxes.

# Home Feed

The home screen has two feed options: For You and Global.

1. "For You" displays posts from the users you follow. Scroll through the feed to view and interact with posts.
2. "Global" displays posts from everyone on Popset, currently in chronological order. Scroll through this feed to discover new people to follow.


# Explore & Search Page

**Explore**: Discover new content and users on the Explore page. Tap on the magnifying glass icon to access this feature.

**Search:** You can search for users by typing in the text box at the top of this page.


# XP Leaderboard

The Leaderboard page shows your current XP ranking and how it compares to others in the app. Popset users earn XP points in various ways:

* **Posting:** Earn 10 points every time you post on the app.
* **Being Collected:** Creators earn 5 points each time one of their posts is collected by another user.
* **Collecting:** Earn 10 points whenever you collect a new post from another user. Earn even more points when purchasing paid mints from other users!
* **Referrals:** Popset users can earn points by referring friends. Every time you refer someone, you earn a bonus equal to 20% of the XP they accumulate on Popset.


# Credits Screen

This screen is accessed by clicking the Ticket icon on the top-right corner of your Home Feed.

There are three main things that you can do in this screen.

1. **Check your Credits balance**: The number at the top shows you how many Popset credits you currently have available in your account.
2. **Collect your daily credit bonus**: Click into "Daily Bonus" to open our spinning wheel game. Tap the center of the screen to spin the wheel and receive your free daily credits. The spinning wheel bonus game is playable once every 24 hours.
3. **Buy additional credits**: If you'd like to buy more credits to use on Popset, you can do so by clicking any of the options in the menu on the bottom half of the screen. The sale of credits is available in countries where App Store checkout is allowed. 


# Personal Profile

Your Profile Page is divided into two galleries: Created and Collected.

1. **Created gallery** - Here you can see all the images that you have shared on Popset. This is your personal showcase.
2. **Collected gallery** - This page shows all the posts that you have collected on Popset from other creators. This is where you can curate your online identity through what you collect digitally.


# Types of Posts on Popset

Every post on Popset is tokenized as a cNFT on the Solana blockchain with the image file pinned to the Inter Planetary File System (IPFS). However, given the many options that creators have to distribute their content, the next pages will clarify the different types of posts.

# Non-collectible posts

As the name implies, these are posts which the creator does not make available for collection. These posts become what is known as "1 of 1", and the token representing their ownership is airdropped only to the creator's Popset wallet.


# Open Editions

Open Editions are posts which their creator makes available without either a supply or time limit. This means that while individual collectors can only mint 1 of each OE post, there might be an unlimited number of editions in existence. 


# Limited Editions

As their name implies, Limited Editions are posts for which the creator has put a limit around their availability. When posting on Popset, users can limit the collectability of their posts in two ways: by limiting the numer of editions available and/or by limiting the time during which the posts are collectible. 

1. **Supply-limited editions:** Posts which can only be collected a maximum number of times set by the creator at the original time of posting. Once the available supply of editions has been collected by users, then there are no more editions available for collecting.
2. **Timed editions:** Posts which can only be minted during a certain period as determined by the creator at the moment of posting. 

Timed editions can also be supply-limited and vice-versa, giving creators and collectors more options when determining how to best distribute and collect content on Popset.


# Creating a Post

Creating and sharing content on Popset is designed to be intuitive and enjoyable.

1. **Start a New Post**: Tap on the camera (+) icon at the bottom right of the navigation bar.
2. **Select or Capture an Image**: Take a new photo using the app's camera feature or choose an image from your library.
3. **Add a Caption**: Write a caption for your post to give it context or tell a story. Tap on the "Caption" field and enter your text.
4. **Set Collection Options**: Decide if you want your post to be available for collection. You can specify the number of editions and the duration of the collecting window. Learn more about the [different types of posts on Popset here](/creating-and-collecting/types-of-posts-on-popset).
   1. Toggle "Available for Collection" if you'd like to make this post available to be collected by others.
   2. Toggle "Supply Limit" if you'd like to make this a [supply-limited edition](/creating-and-collecting/types-of-posts-on-popset/limited-editions). Otherwise, collectible posts default to be [open editions](/creating-and-collecting/types-of-posts-on-popset/open-editions).
   3. Toggle "End Date" to enter the end of the collection window if you'd like to make this a [time-limited edition](/creating-and-collecting/types-of-posts-on-popset/limited-editions).
5. **Submit Post:** Hit the orange "Post" bar at the bottom of the screen to submit your post. 

Keep in mind that posts on Popset are forever minted to the Solana blockchain so make sure that you are happy with your final edits and collection options selection. All posts must comply with [Popset's content policy and terms of use](https://www.popset.xyz/terms).


# Collecting a Post

Collecting a post is a fun and rewarding way to engage with the content you love.

When you collect a post on Popset, you're not just showing appreciation; you're receiving a digital collectible that gets airdropped directly into your Popset account. This digital collectible makes you a part of the creator's community in a unique way.

1. **Find a Collectible Post You Love**: Browse through Popset and find posts which have the "Collect \[+]" icon which means they are available for collection. 
2. **Tap the Collect Button**: You can access the Collect screen either by tapping the \[+] icon on a post from the Home feed, a Creator profile, or by using the orange Collect bar from the post details screen (when available.). Tap it to start the collecting process.
3. **Confirm**: Once you're in the Collect screen, tap "Confirm" to finalize the process. Popset will automatically mint the post as an NFT, airdrop it into your [Collected Gallery](/getting-started/navigating-the-popset-interface/personal-profile), and deduct one credit. 

This process is quick and easy, giving you instant access to your new digital collectible.

# Frequently Asked Questions

* *Q: How can I access the app Settings?*
  * A: Tap the Settings Wheel in the top-right corner of your Profile page. This will take you to the Settings page. In addition to being able to adjust the app theme or logout, you will find your wallet details and referral code, both of which you can tap to copy and share.
* *Q: Does "Liking" a post trigger an onchain transaction?*
  * A: No. Only posting and collecting triggers an onchain transaction on Popset. Likes are primarily to give users an additional method of engaging within the app.
* *Q: How do I "Follow" other users?*
  * A: Tap the Follow button on another user's Profile Page in order to Follow them and have them appear in your "For You" feed. You can also tap the Follow button that appears when searching for the user from the Explore & Search Page or on other lists (i.e., "collected by" lists, "liked by" lists) that appear within the app.
* *Q: How do I "Block" other users?*
  * A: Tap the expanded menu button on another user's profile and select "Block User" from the pop-up menu. This will stop the user from showing up on your feeds.
* *Q: How do I report inappropriate content, especially content that may be in violation of Popset's content policy?*
  * A: Tap the expanded menu button on any post and select the "Report Post" flag from the pop-up menu. This will flag the content as inappropriate to the Popset team.
* *Q: What does the Popset team do with inappropriate content reports?*
  * A: Popset has a strict content policy in order to ensure the app remains a healthy and appropriate environment for all users. Popset utilizes content moderation during the posting process to prevent inappropriate content from being uploaded. In the event inappropriate content is not caught during this screening, flagged content will be reviewed by the Popset team and can be removed if it is deemed to be a violation of our policies.
